Most of the condominium that are bought, come through Land Registry System. Where you finalize the deal by transferring the amount with the lawyer, or if you need additional funds via a mortgage your lawyer will take care of it and you finalize registering for the property

Assignment here primarily refers to the 'right' over the condo that is not in the Land Registry System. Usually the condo under consideration is not built or is not ready for occupancy. Here the 'right' over condo or property is just a paper transaction and not the actual transfer of the property. The assignment is closed at the time when condo is registered. And person who buys the ‘right’ will close and register their ownership over the condo at some later date.
